*Fink, Lawrence (Larry)  (TS)  Larry was the originator of "modern" solo ringing and taught advanced ensemble ringing when most ringers were still using only two bells.  He formed the Fink Family Ringers in 1959.  They presented over 150 concerts during five cross-country tours, teaching all who wanted to learn about their techniques and music.  Larry introduced handbells to the Seattle World's Fair in 1962, and taught ringing in four junior high schools and one high school in the Seattle area.  He has served on many AGEHR committees, Bells in Schools Chairman in 1966  (CHIME), contributed articles on handbells in education in OVERTONES,  and has attended numerous festivals over the years.  Larry was awarded the Honorary Life Membership in 1994.  It was a pleasure to see Larry and other family members in 1997 at the  National Directors' Seminar in Spokane, WA.  Larry died in July of 1998, after an extended illness.

Flanagan, Andrew L. (Andy)  (TS)  Honorary Life 1990.  2033 E. Rahn Road Dayton OH 45440-     (513) 439-2902  1980-89.  First Executive Director of AGEHR.  Andrew L. Flanagan began working with the AGEHR early in his career when he was involved in organizing Area II.  He went on to serve as the National Treasurer.   Andy left his position as Associate Executive Director of Choristers Guild to become the first Executive Director of the AGEHR.  His first responsibility was to set up the National Office in Dayton, Ohio.   This marked the beginning of a new era for the Guild, consolidating all registrations and memberships and financial matters in the central office.  Andy also served in churches as Music Director in Pennsylvania, Texas and Ohio. Charter member of Bay Area Ringers - an auditioned community handbell ensemble (no longer in existence). Clinician on Bass Bell Techniques and Working With Young Ringers at Area and State AGEHR events. Clinician for State Disciples of Christ Music Workshop as well as AGEHR State Childrens festival and State Young Ringers Festival. Kim has done private workshops for individual churches.

Frizzell, J.D. -- Memphis, TN -- jdfrizzell@briarcrest.com -- J.D. Frizzell, a composer, conductor, and baritone, is the Director of High School Choirs at Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis, TN. He earned the double Master's in Music Theory/Composition and Conducting from The University of Southern Mississippi, where he also earned the bachelor's degree in Music History and Literature. J.D., winner of the 2007 Intégrales Composition Contest, writes music for choir, orchestra, symphonic band, voice, handbells, chamber ensembles, and solo instruments. His handbell music is currently available through Red River Music, AGEHR, Choristers Guild, and Ring-Press, and his choral music is available through Sapience Music Publishing. His responsibilities at Briarcrest include teaching the Concert Choir, Honors Chamber Singers, OneVoice, and AP Music Theory. In addition, J.D. teaches private voice and piano and directs the praise band. He conducted many choirs at Southern Miss, including the Southern Chorale, the Concert Choir, the University Singers, the Southern Chamber Singers, and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble. In addition, J.D. has served as music director in United Methodist Churches in Ellisville and Gulfport, MS. He has also been the artistic director of the professional choir The Voices of Tomorrow. In addition, J.D. appears regularly as a clinician and presenter in both choral and handbell settings. Other accomplishments include being Southern Miss' 2003 Theodore Presser Scholar, a Southern Miss Leadership Scholar, and a recipient of the Kathryn Sweatman Page Endowment. Published research topics include the compositional process and the music of Igor Stravinsky. The Gwinnett Daily Post featured J.D.'s Mass in C on the front page of their Lifestyles section. Also active as a vocal soloist, J.D. has appeared with the Mississippi Symphony, the Gwinnett Symphony, many choirs at Southern Miss, the Voices of Tomorrow, and the Sanctuary Choir at First Prebsyterian Church. In 2003, he was the 4th place winner in the Southern Region of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition.
